I don't know how to start with this introduction and I doubt anyone will actually read this so here goes. I also suck at introductions and this is absolutely not a diary since I am also a very private person. This site was started because I need a website as part of a CS50 requirement to get the certificate however I must add that I've always been interested in making my own website. I am no programmer (I am a finance bro) by any means and probably consulted W3 Schools a billion times (an exageration of course!). As I write this, I will soon begin an internship and have 6 to 7 months of spare time to burn. I've always been someone who liked having a project to keep me busy. In the last year alone, I've begun and have mostly finished a private project on my grandfather's service in the US Navy during WWII as well as various "minor" projects in-between. This just serves as the next major project as I wrap up the former. As you can probably guess, I do have a passion for history, always have. The periods of history that are most interesting to me have to be the Greco-Roman period, so roughly lets say from the Greek-Persian wars until around the fall of Western Rome. I've been meaning to do more learning about Eastern Rome, aka Byzantium but life has gotten in my way. For other historical periods, I would say the period from 1815 to 1991 captivate me by the sheer amount of change and innovation, unfortunately also by the horrors man has done.
You're probably wondering, "why the Sega Dreamcast?" or maybe not. I wasn't really aware of my surroundings, let alone able to understand gaming, having been born 2000 (yikes every year that date looks older and older). I was always curious about console history, I remember wondering about the GameCube disk on the Wii boot-up menu (you know the one), I later got one for myself for 80. I also became an avid watcher of the Angry Video Game Nerd in my early-teens. I was first mainly, if not only, a Nintendo fan, I had gone through the list of consoles, the Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo, you get the point. Around 2015-2016-2017, I had finally decided to venture beyond only Nintendo and the Sega Dreamcast was the one I had decided to try out and I feel in love with the Dreamcast, it is probably the most quirky console known to man. The games library is wacky and unique, I'd argue only the GameCube comes remotely close! I could go and on about the quirks and how it feels unique but I'd recommend giving the Dreamcast a shot. One could say this website is an homage to the Dreamcast (and my need for a project). I will also add that all the writing done on this website is 100% AI free as in I had to write all of this myself!
Now what is my personal experience with the Dreamcast? So far, I've really enjoyed it as I played the games properly, from start to finish. I'm currently filling-in my personal library, originally I wanted to get the full set but I've changed my mind. I want to pick the games that interest me. I will attempt to get the First Party Sega Stuff. Controller variants however, I will probably try to get them all, I'm built that way, I NEED ALL THE COLORS! As a kid who grew up during that 6th to 7th console generation era, it's in a certain spot where its modern enough to appeal to me while not being old enough to be noticeable. The Saturn is a perfect example of this, the console still has that primitive 3D look where a lot of the games objectively just don't look nice. I'm currently trying out the more attractive titles in my library of about 64 games (as of April 13th 2026) and will be writing short reviews of them, I'm not going to make these giant 16 paragraphs essays on a game, I will just say what I liked in that game and what I didn't like in that game. I won't take requests mainly because A. I might not have the game and B. Chances are if it isn't garbage, it's on my list! I will admit that I never really got into Sonic, most of the games that were out when I was a kid weren't top-tier games or never really captivated me. I'm glad to admit, I've actually really enjoyed Sonic Adventure, I will soon introduce my "Reviews" section where I will express some of my opinions on the game, its a charming little game, actually really looks good for 1998! Now the camera thats definitely 1998-tier.
I actually believe the Dreamcast and Sonic Adventure has an early or pre-Frutiger Aero vibe. It also kills the Y2K vibes that I try to imitate on this website. Another point that I feel might come up is "Why not all of Sega's consoles?". The reason is quite simple, while I like the Saturn I own (a Model 1) it doesn't give me the same pleasure the Dreamcast does in the games, the atmosphere and even the collecting. As of April 13th 2026, I still do not own a Master System nor do I really want one. I never got into the NES as much as I did the Nintendo 64 or GameCube. Same feeling applies to the Mega Drive, like I kinda want a Sega/Mega CD but its also like 200-300 bucks for one... That all to say, I'm more of a 6th generation guy myself, I do enjoy 5th generation 3D and I can enjoy 2D games but it doesn't have that same feel to me, its more foreign if that makes any sense.
I also have many other passions, I love nature and especially animals, cats, sheep, dogs and squirrels to name a quick list of animals. I try to keep in shape by working out. I do game quite a bit (less now than before), these days mainly on Steam and on Dreamcast as well as Minecraft, where the name NetherYoshi was my Minecraft name from September 23, 2012! I read a lot, I'd say 99.99% is non-fiction, mostly history, finance or geopolitics. As one could probably tell, unlike the large amount of users on this site, I'm not really an artist-creative type, I've never really been one. I was always stronger with music as a matter of fact and math. However, as a part of this website's plan, I fully intend to make a lightbox and take my own photographs of the various Dreamcast related items. First because I can also take higher resolution photos of items and second because this means I can also capture different angles. It also removes the potential issues of using other people's images. I'm also into vintage/old-school cars, mainly the General Motors offerings from 1956 to 1996, especially their full-sized sedans and station wagons!
Below will be some old cars I like!
