WARNING: I've only played through Sonic's Story! This is actually the first Sonic game I've gone through from start to finish. Where do I start? I find the game fun, the controls are pretty good and the graphics are actually really nice for 1998, I get a Frutiger Aero vibe from some of the menus and settings! The music is catchy. The voice acting is funny and charming, like yeah its not great but its got a charm. The story is sort of to be expected from Sonic, Eggman stole the Chaos Emeralds!! It's not bad, its not good. I've found myself more interested in the stages rather than invested in the story. Emerald Coast is amazing, it looks so good, even today! I've enjoyed that level and the one in the Mystic Ruins area the most in fact. I haven't tried the Chao Garden but I've heard its really nice. There's multiple stories for each character which is a bonus, you get more game for your buck!
Now for the negatives, the camera. I could just leave this as is but the camera is the biggest issue, it either lags behind making it impossible to progress or it actively screws things up like during the temple level with that damned water and snake section. Probably the worst level in the game period, the anti gravity stuff also sucked. Another minor gripe is that the game doesn't always really tell you where to go, like I understand there won't be a minimap but sometimes you get lost, maybe its just me being stupid. Sometimes the lock-on doesn't work, I died a few times during the Egg Viper boss fight due to the lock-on not working and just sending me off the platform.

I've always been a massive FPS fan, in particular of the singleplayer FPS of which the Dreamcast had very few of. I was pleasantly surprised by the game, the control scheme which is followed by most of the other FPS games on Dreamcast was inituitive and I got used to it very quickly. The gunplay is satisfying and the guns sound good (for 2000). The gore was also a pleasant surprise because it really adds to the realism of the game. If you shoot a person in the leg but don't kill him, he screams in agony which is how things would be in real life. It was also nice to see that the game had plenty of levels that were quite different in their styles and layouts. Admittedly the plot is fairly simplistic but it gets the job done, I did find myself somewhat invested, not a huge amount of course.
Now for the negative side of the game. Many places where you need to go aren't very obvious, this is like wheels you need to spin aren't stick out as much as I feel they should. The controls can sometimes work against you as I've found myself switching guns while trying to throw a grenade or whatever. Easily the worst case of this is during the train level, where you have no clue what to do and it can get frustrating. The maps are also sometimes mazelike with especially the Japanese skyscraper and the second Iraq mission being a pain in the butt. The last minor complaint is the final boss battle being just a pain.

Actually really enjoyed it. The plot isn't too crazy (except towards the end sort of). The gameplay is actually fun. Find it very funny that you can put the glasses on or off, neat little detail. The mission with the 6 bombs and having to defuse them made my heart beat like mad and my hands sweaty! The graphics aren't bad for 2001 either. Also the lockon mechanic for shooting actually makes gunning down bad guys quite fun, shotgun is the best btw. Lots of cut scenes (probably why there's 2 discs) and I love the dystopian setting created by the loading screen ads and the whole organ obsession. Never felt too much like it was a "where the hell do I go now?" kind of game!
On the other side, getting the points for L.E.I.L.A is SO PAINFUL, the bike controls like crap in first gear, Jack does his stupid wheelie and I lose all control and bam -50 points out of your total. First gear means you gotta shift your analog stick to the max but when you enter second gear its sensitive as all hell sending you barreling towards a wall most likely. Also the stealth kill doesn't always work, I end up throwing a shell or shooting instead of breaking some goon's neck.
